Production Materials

The Production Materials data model captures material requirements and availability for production orders. It tracks required and issued quantities, remaining demand, inventory availability, and component-level shortages. Use this data model to identify material constraints, prioritize shortages, and assess readiness to issue materials to the shop floor.

Benefits of this data model

  • Identify components that constrain production due to insufficient availability.
  • Determine whether production orders are ready to issue or blocked based on material availability.
  • Prioritize the most severe shortages to guide procurement and expediting actions.
  • Resolve material issues before they affect execution schedules and cause production delays.
  • Distinguish between soft and hard shortages to clarify inventory constraints and risk level.

Available views

This data model includes predefined views, each built for a specific use case. A view can take different forms depending on how the data is best presented, such as a worksheet, a chart, a gauge, or a map. The views in this data model are worksheets.

Some views open with predefined filters already applied so the view shows only the data relevant to its purpose. Active filters are displayed in the filter bar at the bottom of the view and can be adjusted at any time.
