Source Connection
A source connection in DataSync defines how the system connects to your Sage X3 database to extract and refresh data. Creating source connections is required before you can load or synchronize tables in your data warehouse.
Create a refresh source connection in DataSync
- Log in to DataSync.
- From the welcome screen, select Connections.
- Next to Source Connections, click New.
- Select SQL Server or Oracle.
- In the Connection Properties panel, enter
Refreshas the description. - Enter the Server and Database names.
- Enter the Sage X3 database credentials for Username and Password.
- In the Advanced Settings panel, set Tracking Type to Date.
The time zone must match the Sage X3 application server. - Click Save.
Create a data warehouse source connection – Sales and Finance cubes
Follow these steps only to set up the Sales and Finance OLAP cubes. Otherwise, continue with the setup.
- Next to Source Connections, click New.
- Choose the connection type.
- For scenario 3 – cloud, select SQL Azure.
- Otherwise, select SQL Server.
- In the Connection Properties panel, enter
Data Warehouse (Source)as the description. - Enter the Server and Database names matching those used by your data warehouse.
- Enter the data warehouse database credentials for Username and Password.
- In the Advanced Settings panel, set Tracking Type to Date.
The time zone must match the Sage X3 application server. - Click Save.
