What data models can do

Data models organize business data into a structured format that defines what information is available, how it is connected, and how it can be used for reporting. Some actions such as creating, editing, or linking tables can only be performed by an administrator.

  • Design and configuration: structure, relationships, and properties.
  • Dimensions and measures: descriptive and numeric fields available for analysis.
  • Tables and joins: how tables are connected using key fields.
  • Fields: properties, formats, visibility, and calculations.
  • Data model parameters: input values used for filtering or adjustments.
  • Stored procedures: predefined database operations.
  • Info pages: supplementary data or context attached to the model.
