Data Model Configuration

The Data Model Configuration tool allows you to map data models between Central Points, ensuring that your Excel workbook always connects to the correct source models.

When to map data models

  • Sharing workbooks across environments: Remap data model references when a Excel workbook is opened in a different Central Point so it continues to use the appropriate source models.

Dialog overview

The window is divided into two panels:

PanelDescription
Workbook ConfigurationDisplays the data models currently used in the Excel workbook. This panel appears on the left and includes models created through Data Extraction, Pivot Tables, or References Configuration.
Available Data ModelsLists all published data models provided by SEI in the connected Central Point. This panel appears on the right.

Map data models

  1. In Excel, open the Add-ins tab and select Data Model Configurations.
  2. In the Workbook Configuration panel, choose the data model you want to map, then select its corresponding model in the Available Data Models panel.
    Already‑mapped pairs appear as selected.
  3. Select Save to apply the mapping and confirm when prompted.
  4. Select Close when finished.
