Breaking Changes

As of our next full release (2022 R2), we will no longer support the 32-bit version of Excel Add-in for Windows 32 bits. The SEI Excel Add-in - WIN32.exe installation package will not be available. You will need Windows 64 bits in order to install Excel Add-in for MS-Office 32-bit or 64-bit version (SEI Excel Add-in - WIN64.exe).

As of January 10, 2023, Windows Server 2012 R2 will no longer be supported by Microsoft nor by SEI.

Highlights

Web Workbook (Preview)

The Web Workbook (Preview) allows users to access their workbooks from SEI and eliminates the need to manually log in to Excel Add-in and manage two separate applications. The Web Workbook (Preview) offers multiple features, such as smart caching, new filter options, global variables, and new formatting features.

For details, please refer to Workbooks (Preview).

Important

Please note that the SEI Web Workbook preview is provided “as is” and is still undergoing development and does not represent the final version on the Web Workbook. We cannot guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error free and we advise you to safeguard important data and use caution when referring to the data in the Web Workbook preview. The Web Workbook preview is covered by the same support as your SEI Software account. For details, please refer to Workbook Limitations.

Data Migration

We have built migration templates to help you move your data from one ERP to the next without having to map everything out from scratch. With these templates, you can get up and running in less time and keep track of any changes made during the migration.

For details, please refer to Data Migration.

Column Formatting

The new column formatting features in the worksheet views allow you to customize your worksheets without making any changes in the back-end that can affect the original worksheet design.

For details, please refer to Formatting Columns and Groups and Formatting Precedence. These topics have been updated as well: Applying Conditional Formatting to a Column and Applying Conditional Formatting to a Group.

Data Aggregation

You can now summarize your data any way you like without impacting the Data Model Designer in the back-end. You can change how you view aggregated data and select from aggregate functions like Average, Minimum, Maximum, and Count distinct rather than only seeing the default, Sum.

For details, please refer to Applying Aggregation Overrides.

SEI Embedded into Sage 300

Sage 300 users can access their analysis and reporting tools with Sage Enterprise Intelligence (SEI) embedded in their ERP. Features available on the standalone version of SEI is visible on the SEI menu panel within Sage 300. This includes administration functions, dashboards, reports, the mobile version of SEI, and the web workbook. With the Menu Configurator, you can customize which SEI menu items you want to appear within Sage 300.

For details, please refer to Embedded into Sage 300.

  • When adding parameters in the Manage Data Model Parameters dialog box, only a few of them would display after clicking Confirm.

  • When using SAML2 to log into SEI, the language of the interface (buttons, options, drop-downs, etc.) was always reset to English.

  • When logged in as a non-admin user, you could not see the groups in the Publish for drop-down list.

  • After sorting the Last Job Run Date column in ascending or descending order in the Scheduler History tab, the rows were not properly sorted.

  • In the Scheduler Users and Groups tab, the job could not be saved if the option was set to Run As Admin User and the email address was deleted.

  • Distribution would not work in the Cloud environment when using OAuth as authentication method.

Excel Add-in

  • When the Keep me signed in option was selected with SAML2 as SSO, it would keep asking the user to log in to Excel Add-in.

  • When using Oracle as source database, performing a data migration would sometimes return this error: Metadata is incompatible - The datatype <Boolean is incompatible with <Int16>.

  • When connecting to DataSync with the SAP HANA connector, the schema was not taken into account.

  • When creating extractions with the SAP HANA connector, indexes were not created for tables having indexes.
