Project Committed Cost

The Project Committed Cost data model provides a detailed view of construction project budgets, commitments, change orders, actual costs, and remaining exposure in Acumatica. It includes project, task, account group, cost code, inventory, branch, currency, source document, quantity, and amount information. Use it to compare original budgets with revised commitments, track released and pending change orders, monitor actual costs, and review open committed amounts across active projects.

How to use this data model

  • Review committed costs by project, task, account group, and cost code to understand where project spending is concentrated.
  • Compare original budgets with revised commitments to measure how purchasing and subcontracting activity has changed from the initial plan.
  • Track released and pending change orders in both amounts and quantities to identify expected changes to project costs.
  • Monitor actual costs against committed amounts to see how much of each commitment has already been consumed.
  • Review open commitment balances to understand the remaining financial exposure on purchase orders, subcontracts, and other commitment sources.
  • Analyze commitment activity by source type and source date to trace project costs back to their originating transactions.
  • Compare project costs across branches, currencies, inventory items, and project statuses for broader construction portfolio analysis.
