This report compares the company’s financial position at the end of the current period against the same period last year.

Key metrics at a glance

  • TY (This Year): The actual balances of all asset, liability, and equity accounts for the current year‑to‑date reporting date.

  • LY (Last Year): The actual balances of the same accounts as of the same date one year earlier.

  • Var $ (Variance in Dollars): Shows the difference between TY and LY. Formula: TY – LY A positive variance means the account balance increased from last year; a negative variance means it decreased.

  • Var % (Variance Percentage): Shows the percentage change from last year to this year. Formula: (TY – LY) / LY * 100
