Building and Loading UDM Cubes

Before building and loading your cubes, you may wish to configure your fiscal year value via the @@UDM_FISCALYEAR_END_BGN global variable. For more info. on that process, see Configuring Global Variables.

Staging and Dimension Cubes

Important

Since the UDM Module cubes use the Staging and UDM Dim cubes as their source, they must be built first.

Important

Note that it is extremely essential to follow this procedure as described (i.e: without taking shortcuts like building all cubes at once). Otherwise, you may have errors related to the triggers.

  1. In the Administration section , click on OLAP Manager in the left pane.
  2. In the Search Bar, enter staging to display only the Staging cubes in the list.
  3. In the right panel, click on and select all the Staging cubes.
  4. In the Action drop-down, select Build.
  5. In the Environments drop-down, select the environment on which you want to build the cubes and click on Confirm.
  6. In the Search Bar, enter UDM Dim to display only the Dimension cubes in the list.
  7. In the right panel, click on and select the cube.
  8. In the Action drop-down, select Build.
  9. In the Environments drop-down, select the environment used for the Staging cubes and click on Confirm.
Note

Once the Building process is finished, now we can Load them.

  1. In the right panel, click on and select the UDM Dim cubes.
  2. In the Action drop-down, select Load All.
  3. In the Environments drop-down, select the environment you used to build the cubes and click on Confirm.
  4. In the Search Bar, enter staging to display only the Staging cubes in the list.
  5. In the right panel, click on and select all the Staging cubes.
  6. In the Action drop-down, select Load All.
Important

It is highly recommended to load each Cube one by one if your database is pretty large.

  1. In the Environments drop-down, select the environment you used to build the cubes and click on Confirm.
Note

Now that the prerequisites are done (meaning Building and Loading the Staging and UDM Dim cubes), we can now do the same process with the other cubes.

UDM Module Cubes

  1. In the Search Bar, remove the word staging to display all cubes in the list.
  2. In the right panel, click on and select all the cubes except the Staging and UDM Dim cubes.
  3. In the Action drop-down, select Build.
  4. In the Environments drop-down, select the environment on which you built the Staging and UDM Dim cubes.
  5. Click on Confirm.
Note

Once the Building process is finished, now we can Load them.

  1. In the right panel, click on and select all the cubes except the Staging and UDM Dim cubes.
  2. In the Action drop-down, select Load All.
  3. In the Environments drop-down, select the environment you used to build the cubes.
  4. Click on Confirm.

The loading of Cubes containing Measures may take some time.
