Data Models and Views

The Data Models and Views tab allows you to:

  • Open all available views (Worksheets, Gauges, Maps, Charts and Dashboards).
  • Select and execute view-related operations.
  • Organize data models and views in different folders.

Legend:

If the user double-clicks on a view from the Data Models and Views tab, the navigation area displays the corresponding data in the appropriate layout (worksheet, chart, gauge, map or dashboard). When the user double-clicks on another view it opens in a new tab.

The content of the Data Models and Views tab can vary from one user to another. It only represents the Data Models and Views for the specific user who is authorized to access the system currently being used.

Context Menus

Right-click Option Description
Data Model  

New View

To create a new view in the selected data model.

New Folder

To create a new folder in the selected data model.

Design Data Model

To open the Data Model Designer into a new tab of the web browser and load the selected data model into it.

Translate Data Model

To display a window allowing the user to enter translations in various languages for the data model name, views, fields, etc.

Copy Data Model

To create a copy of the data model.

Overwrite Data Model

To overwrite the data model.

Rename Data Model

To rename the data model.

Delete Data Model

To delete the data model.

Manage Data Model Parameters

To open the window which adds, removes or edits the parameters of the data model.

Set Data Model Parameters

To open prompt to change the data model parameters.

Manage Stored Procedures

To display the Manage Stored Procedures dialog box.

Execute Stored Procedures

To execute the defined stored procedures.

Manage Info Pages

To create and edit info-pages.

Edit Selection Pages

To display a window allowing the user to define selection pages.

View Info-Pages

To access and use the info-pages.

Manage Documentation

To select files to upload as reference documents for the users. Add as many files as needed.

View  

Open

To open the view.

Open in Sample Mode

To open view with limited data (top 100). Refer to Sample Mode for Views for more details.

Rename View

To rename the selected element.

Add to Favorites

To add view to favorites.

Delete View

To delete the selected element

Properties

To display/change the view properties.

Set as Landing Page

To set the view to be opened automatically when the user logs in.

Subscribe

To configure the distribution for the current user on the selected View.

Manage Documentation

To select files to upload as reference documents for the users. Add as many files as needed.

Notify Users About Modification

To set notifications.

Note

Some options in this context menu may or may not be enabled depending on the user’s authority and on the nature of the selection (Folder, data model or View).

Tip

It is possible for authorized users to create multiple folders within a single data model.

This allows them to better organize their Views.
