Introduction
Data Sync allows you to merge data from different sources (Oracle, Saleforce, etc) into a data warehouse (such as SQL).
In order to work properly, an active internet connection is required for the Data Sync to remotely communicate with the SEI License server.
Actually, Data Sync works under the principle of ETL.
ETL or Extract, Transform and Load are processes with which you can perform tasks from databases. In this case:
- Extract (or read in other words) consists of collecting data from one to different types of sources.
- Transform consists of converting those extracted data into the format it needs to be through the use of tables in order to be processed in the data warehouse.
- Load (or store in other words) consists of writing the converted data into the destination database.
Use Data Sync to migrate and consolidate your data easily and take benefits from the SEI cloud server for its speed in dealing with query requests.
This guide will help you to setup and get familiar with Data Sync.
