Server Installation
In addition to the data source components, the following installation procedures are based on the second scenario (refer to Scenario 2 for more details), which assumes the installation of all SEI server components are on a server other than the main data source system’s server. An installation using one of the other scenarios can be similar, with a few exceptions specified as notes.
Planning and Client Infrastructure Assessment
Before proceeding with the SEI installation, the SEI specialist needs to plan according to the customer’s infrastructure and data volume characteristics. Parameters to consider for installation planning include, but are not limited to:
- The servers available disk space
- The servers CPU
- The servers memory (RAM) setup
- The servers disk speed
- The network speed
- The data source system (ERP/CRM) setup and current data
- The database volume
- The database index setup
- The database engine configuration (cache memory, mirror, and so forth)
These parameters can make the installation easy or very complex.
It is recommended to have a planning and infrastructure assessment discussion with a SEI specialist in case of a complex installation, and to ensure proper performance after SEI is installed.
